They can be summed up easily: Live more self-sufficiently and more simply, and make the most of my time.
The more detailed list is as follows:
Work Resolutions
1) Continue to work hard, but not as long hours. Make it home for dinner with my husband most nights a week.
2) Major promotion at work. Goal - Senior Estimator by the end of the year!
Home Resolutions
1) Cook all week meals at home.
2) Buy less prepared foods - including breads, cheeses, etc. If I buy them prepared, they must be in the most raw and direct form possible. No more packages of shredded cheese, bagged salad, etc.
3) Take back the chickens! My husband, who is probably the most amazing man anyone could have for a husband, has really stepped up and taken care of my chickens. I've been working such long and crazy hours lately, that the chickens are never awake when I'm home. This goes hand in hand with my Work Resolution #1, not working as long hours means that I can pick up my responsibilities again around the house.
4) Clean up, clean out, and (PERMANENTLY) get rid of the JUNK in our house. J and I live in a cute little house that should be plenty large enough for just two people (and a puggle) but it seems like every closet, every room, every shelf is full of stuff. I've already cleaned out the kitchen and have 2 huge boxes of cookbooks and kitchen stuff that we are going to sell in a yard sale this spring. I'm totally guilty of saving sentimental stuff. My grandmother passed away 10 years ago (this July 4th) and I have a lot of her things (furniture, her china, pictures, etc). Problem is, I can't hold on to the stuff forever. I have a few things I will never part with, but my grandma wouldn't want me to hold on to her things, she knows I have the memories. It's funny, though, that it takes so long to come to that realization...
5) Not bring more JUNK into the house. I'm really bad at this. I see a sale and I buy. I get stressed at work and I buy. We have enough stuff, I need to find another way to deal with stress than to blow money on stuff...
